“ Thar’s Rendezvous “

In the late 1800's mountain men from a region would meet at a designated site and time to trade and purchase supplies for the coming year. These gatherings were known as rendezvous and were highly anticipated by this rugged breed of men. It was an important economical and social event. By all accounts these were some pretty wild parties that would last for many days. It was a time to show up and be counted as one of the living. In this sculpture I tried to capture the spirit of an old time mountain man racing to the rendezvous.
